A cheap DIY desktop computer
I’m surfing newegg.com to see what kind of useful computer I can build for as little money as possible. I suppose I could buy POS parts and get something running for less than $100 but where is the fun in that.
Here is what I came up with…

Ubuntu 13.04 Review: Best But Boring? | Jupiter... →
Ubuntu 13.04 was nearly a release that wasn’t, but now it looks like it could be the next great desktop. What happens when you hit the top, & loose your focus?
LAS expects more from Ubuntu and I can’t blame them. They’ve nearly perfected Unity. However, Ubuntu One, Ubuntu Music Store, and Ubuntu Software Center are still very much under developed.

Feeling like Manjaro Linux Openbox hopping →
I’m currently using the XFCE version on my laptop so I figured I’d try out the Openbox version on my desktop’s tiny 40GB drive. It’s been awhile since my last ‘distro hop.’

I’d like to get a sexy minimal window manager-only setup going in Arch, but I love KDE too much to do it
I love XFCE but honestly once you change desktop environments to something else all you can think about is what you miss.
I’d suggest Razor-Qt

do you think you may be thinking a bit too hard about this?
Quite possibly. Truth is I can’t quit KDE. Never will be able to. But I would like to go back to trying to work with a more minimal setup as a possible “work space” prior to college.
The downsides include

Clonzilla is Awesome!
This weekend I tried out Sabayon 11, Loved it but didn’t feel like compiling MySQL, WordPress and PHP to turn it into my go to web developer machine.
Well before trying it out I decided to take the Advice of the Linux Action Show from last week where Chris reviewed Clonzilla a simple USB or DVD based distribution that lets us create easy to reinstall backups.
So far I’ve backed up my...

Sabayon 11 install on the way
It’s been awhile since I’ve hopped to another distribution on my System76 Lemur Ultra. With the recent release of Sabayon 11 and the fact that I just backed up my system using Clonezilla I got nothing to lose.
I’ve never been a fan of Virtualbox, it gives me the opportunity to try out new distributions but often doesn’t really give me a pure experience.
Anyway I’m...
